THIS IS WHY A MORNING ROUTINE WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE

BECOME MORE PRODUCTIVE BY DOING LESS

We all have the same number of hours in a day.

But why is it that some people seem to get more done or be more effective than others? 

This was a question I struggled with for a long time, so I started researching what very successful people did on a daily basis.

I wanted to find how to get more done in less time so I could advance my career.

I discovered my approach was completely wrong.

The key to productivity and effectiveness wasn’t getting more done in less time. The key was to do less stuff.

It sounds crazy. In fact, I thought it was pretty stupid.

But I started doing stupid things, and everything changed.

 

FOCUS ON THE IMPORTANT THINGS

Without a plan to focus on the important things, then we end up reacting to the urgent things. Urgent things distract us more than they propel us forward.

MY WEIRD MORNING ROUTINE

Here’s my morning routine:

4:30 – 5:00 am – Wake up using the Sleep Cycle app

5:00 – 5:15 am – Contrast shower. (Always end on COLD.)

5:15 – 5:30 am – Get dressed, make Bulletproof Coffee, and drink 36 oz. water with trace minerals

5:30 – 5:46 am – Meditation. (Why 16 minutes? Listen to the podcast starting at 22:50)

5:46 – 6:15 am – Bible reading and prayer journaling.

6:15 – 6:30 am – Personal journaling and writing the Priority Stack

6:30 – 6:45 am – Coffee time with the wife.

This is my basic schedule Monday through Saturday. 

I try to sleep in on Sundays…(I’m not a robot).

 

BECOME A SLAVE TO YOUR CALENDAR

When you schedule everything and become a slave to your calendar, then you force yourself to prioritize your days. If you make “free time” a priority, then it just becomes part of your week.

What’s important gets scheduled, and what’s scheduled gets done.
