How to Grow a Construction Business

I speak with many construction business owners all over the world and when I ask them about their goals for their company, they often talk about growth…but then many of them say this…

“I am not really into it for the money.”

And I understand why they are saying this…because for some reason to be in it for the money means we are somehow selling out our trade or our craft or our business.

MAKING MONEY IN CONSTRUCTION

Listen, being in it for the money is the best reason to start and grow a construction business…

And here’s why.

MONEY IS A METRIC FOR EFFECTIVENESS.

The more effective you are in your construction business, the more money you will make.

If you’re not making a profit, then you are not being as effective as you can be.

Don’t be afraid to be in it for the money because your family, your employees, and your customers will benefit from your effectiveness.

The reason you may tell yourself that you aren’t in it for the money is because you’ve never made any.

So change your thinking about money,

And if you’re worried about being seen as a sell out when you make a lot of money, then just give it away.

That’s better than never making it in the first place.
